Transport Supervisor

We are looking to strengthen our existing team of Transport Supervisors who will lead and manage our team responsible for dispatching vehicles in the morning and overseeing the check-in process when drivers return. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on transport operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driver Support & Guidance: Ensure all drivers have the correct paperwork and demonstrate best practices to ensure adherence to procedure.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to drivers and driver’s mates, motivating the team to succeed and maintain high performance.
• Operational Excellence: Manage the driver team to ensure deliveries are completed on time, with excellent customer service, while adhering to traffic and road laws.
• Problem Solving: Work proactively to redirect routes, mitigate disruptions, and handle general queries from senior management, customers, and drivers throughout the day.
• Staffing & Recruitment: Conduct interviews, support recruitment needs, and onboard new team members.
• Performance Management: Oversee performance and probation reviews, and monitor absence procedures in line with company policies.
• Operational Flexibility: Support drivers when operationally needed, ensuring deliveries are completed and operations continue running smoothly.

• Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and delegate workloads in a dynamic environment.
• A natural problem-solver who works well under pressure and is quick to adapt to change.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
